F&W Partner Matt Weinick Speaks at SUNY Old Westbury

On March 15, 2016, Famighetti & Weinick, PLLC partner, Matt Weinick, guest lectured at State University of New York Old Westbury.  Weinick was invited to speak to Dr. Rich Morfopolous’s undergraduate “Entrepreneurship” class.  According to the school, the class aims to educate students about “the steps leading to the establishment of an independent business involving choice of business, structure, capital, startup, management practices, legal and financial considerations.”

As a lawyer and owner of a business, Weinick was able to discuss business plans, as well as offer legal considerations for beginner entrepreneurs.  Weinick led a class discussion by offering his perspectives on opening F&W, including the steps he and partner Peter J. Famighetti took to prepare the opening of the firm.  Weinick walked the class through parts of F&W’s initial business plan and discussed the rewards and challenges of owning a business. The students asked thoughtful questions relating to marketing and other business ownership concerns.

The class concluded with Dr. Morfopolous asking several follow up questions of Weinick and asking the students to review and offer their thoughts on the effectiveness of F&W’s website. Luckily, the students offered very positive feedback!

F&W thanks Dr. Morfopolous for including Weinick in a wonderfully rewarding opportunity to interact with and inspire a new generation of small business owners and managers.
